High-Speed Rail Introduces Special "Small Bowl Dishes" — Spring Festival Passengers Can Enjoy Authentic Central China Cuisine: People's Daily Overseas Edition, Page 11

In Henan, "small bowl dishes" represent a new initiative by the railway authority to promote authentic Central China cuisine while minimizing food waste. Since their debut in August 2024, with dishes such as Xinyang Braised Pork and Kaifeng Vegetarian Three Delicacies, the small bowl meals have been well-received by passengers from both within and outside the province.
"We introduced a series of health-conscious dishes last fall, including Shangqiu Steamed Lamb and Luoyang Souped Meat Slices. On January 6, 2025, we launched new flavors such as Pingdingshan Lushan Braised Vegetables, Xinxiang Red Braised Lamb, Sanmenxia Spicy Shanxi Wild Boar and Jiaozuo Iron Stick Yam with Prawn Tail, to further enrich the dining options for Spring Festival travelers," said Deng Yan, head of the travel services workshop at Zhengzhou Passenger Transport Section.
