On January 11, Mass Transit Railway (MTR) and the Hong Kong Tourism Board jointly launched the high-speed rail "Hong Kong Panda Express," introducing a playful cross-boundary travel experience for passengers commuting between Hong Kong and Guangzhou or Shenzhen. The special train features the beloved panda family aboard a "Vibrant Express" high-speed rail train.
At 8:23 a.m. that day, the inaugural trip of G6582 departed from Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station for Guangzhounan Railway Station. The ticketing hall at Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station was transformed with panda-themed decorations, allowing passengers to immerse themselves in the charm of the giant panda throughout their journey. At the boarding gates, MTR staff handed out mini panda plush toys and other memorabilia to passengers boarding the first train. Many Hong Kong residents specially came to experience this unique journey, sharing the trip with the adorable and playful panda mascots.
