Innovative customs clearance models and smoother logistics channels are enabling ASEAN cross-border e-commerce to rapidly develop. At the Nanning International Railway Port, the largest railway logistics center in Guangxi, the China-Vietnam freight train, carrying mixed cargo such as steel, furniture, home appliances, tiles and solar cells, is ready to depart. According to the CR-Nanning, the number of containers sent by China-Vietnam freight trains originating from Guangxi totaled 12,998 TEUs in the first 10 months of this year, a 1,274% YoY increase, repeatedly breaking monthly shipment records.
Since July, with the warming of China-Vietnam e-commerce trade, transportation demand has continued to rise. CR-Nanning has timely adjusted its transportation plans, achieving almost daily service for the China-Vietnam trains. Additionally, CR-Nanning coordinated with Yongzhou Customs to reduce fees, lowering costs for enterprises in the customs operating area, including short-haul and storage fees. Currently, the freight rate for China-Vietnam trains from Nanningnan Railway Station to Yên Viên Railway Station is set at 1,150 yuan per 40-foot container, saving over 5,000 yuan per container, which has been well-received by domestic and international customers.
