"The China-Laos Railway has become an important channel for the cross-border export of goods from Thailand," reported Japan's Nikkei Asia. The Laos-Thailand cross-border railway passenger trains started operating this year, seamlessly connecting with the China-Laos Railway. Although Thailand and China do not share a border, the railway now links China, Laos and Thailand, promoting cross-border logistics and trade.
As of December 2, 2024, the China-Laos Railway has transported a total of 48.3 million tons of goods. The variety of cross-border goods has expanded significantly, from over 500 types at the beginning to more than 3,000 types today.
