On October 17, a train loaded with 3,000 tons of coke arrived at the Longgong Port terminal in Jining, Shandong. After the cargo was loaded onto the ship, it was set to be transported directly to steel mills downstream along the Grand Canal. This marks the first rail-water intermodal project at Longgong Port operated by the Jinan Railway Business Group Co., Ltd., under CR-Jinan, since the completion of its dedicated railway line.

Since the official operation of this dedicated railway line, the main types of cargo transported to and from Longgong Port include coke and coal containers from the "Shanxi-Shaanxi-Henan" region via the Xinhe-Yanri Railway, grain from Northeast China, steel from Hebei Province, as well as imported and exported agricultural products. Once the goods arrive at Longgong Port, they are transported to southern regions via the Grand Canal, either by converting containers to bulk or by transferring them into the companies' containers.

As of now, the Zaoyuan Operating Department's rail-water intermodal project at Liangshan Port has achieved a transportation volume of 110,000 tons. It is reported that after the dedicated railway line becomes operational, the annual container throughput at Longgong Port is expected to increase from 117,800 TEUs in 2023 to 230,000 TEUs.
