At 18:13 on September 13, the D9947 test train arrived on time at Yinchuan Railway Station, marking the completion of all testing tasks for the Baotou-Yinchuan High Speed Railway's Huinong-Yinchuan section after a month of operation trials, bringing it one step closer to official operation.

For a long time, the northwest region has been a challenging area for railway construction in China. The Baotou-Yinchuan High Speed Railway, which connects Baotou in Inner Mongolia with Yinchuan in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, is also the first high-speed railway linking two minority autonomous regions. The railway spans a total length of 519 kilometers, with 13 stations and a designed speed of 250 kilometers per hour. It is being constructed in segments, with the Baotou-Huinong section starting construction in April 2022 and progressing smoothly. The section now opening is from Huinong to Yinchuan. Once fully operational, the travel time from Baotou to Yinchuan will be reduced from 6 to approximately 2 hours.
