From October 10 to 11, the ASEAN Plus Three Summit was held in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. The theme of this year's meetings was "ASEAN: Strengthening Connectivity and Resilience." In recent years, the building of the China-ASEAN Community of Shared Destiny has taken new steps, with deeper political mutual trust, traditional friendship and practical cooperation, bringing tangible benefits to the people on both sides.

Projects like the China-Laos Railway, the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway and the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway have become shining examples of China and ASEAN's joint efforts to build the "Belt and Road" Initiative (BRI). As of September 30, the China-Laos Railway had operated 58,700 passenger trains, transporting over 40 million passengers, and attracting more than 282,000 international travelers from 101 countries and regions for cross-border journeys. The Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway has transported over 5.4 million passengers, with an average of 16,000 passengers daily. In the first half of this year, the transport volume of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor rail-sea intermodal trains increased by 20.8%.
