At 8:28 AM on December 30, 2024, the G5513 train on the Nanning-Yulin section of the Nanning-Zhuhai High Speed Railway made its maiden journey, arriving at Yulinbei Railway Station in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. This marked the realization of high-speed rail connectivity between Nanning and Yulin, the most populous cities in Guangxi, ending Yulin's long history without direct high-speed rail access.
"The train smoothly speeding along the new line is rewriting the spatial distance between Nanning and Yulin. As a resident of Yulin, I feel incredibly proud and honored. This year, I can also take the high-speed rail home for the New Year!" said Li Kai, the train conductor of G5513, expressing the heartfelt sentiment of the people of Yulin. With this new high-speed rail connection, Guangxi's 14 cities divided into districts have now achieved "high-speed rail access for every city."
Today, the Guangxi region is densely covered by railways and high-speed trains, creating a vibrant picture where people move freely, and goods flow smoothly. According to data, in 2024, CR-Nanning saw its passenger volume exceed 131 million for the first time, setting a new historical record and adding a vivid chapter to the story of a "moving China." The freight volume reached 137 million tons, maintaining over 100 million tons for eight consecutive years, marking the best period in history. Through high-speed rail, modern logistics systems are being rapidly developed, accelerating the flow of people and goods. Guangxi is gradually becoming a key hub for both domestic and international circulation.
