Yangtze River Delta's First Self-Drive Car Transport by Train to Xinjiang
Recently, a Shanghai resident successfully placed an order on the CR 12306 website to transport their self-drive car to Xinjiang. This marks the first self-drive car transport service handled by the Yangtze River Delta railway.
Self-driving tours in Xinjiang have always been popular among tourists. To meet this demand, CR-Shanghai Railway meticulously planned and designed the railway transport routes for self-drive cars from Shanghai and Nanjing to Urumqi. These routes were launched on the CR 12306 website at the end of June. Once customers place an order on the platform, the railway authority provides full logistics services, from door-to-door car pickup to delivery.
To minimize the waiting time for assembly and dispatch at the front end and to ensure transportation efficiency, the railway authority has leveraged the advantages of the Yangtze River Delta region's high volume of commercial vehicle transport and frequent train services. They have scientifically formulated a combined dispatch plan for self-drive cars and commercial vehicles to maximize transportation efficiency and meet users' travel schedule requirements. After arriving in Urumqi by plane or train, customers can drive their cars and enjoy their tour within Xinjiang. According to a relevant person in charge at CR Special Cargo Logistics Co., Ltd., car transport eliminates long-distance driving fatigue, enhances safety for both people and vehicles, and reduces travel costs and time for customers, presenting a broad market prospect.
