Urumqi, August 14 (Reported by Guan Yongjun, Shen Xuewu and Wu Qi) - At 21:12 on August 7, a freight train carrying coal from Xinjiang’s Zhundongbei Railway Station arrived on schedule at Shihezi Railway Station. With this, the daily operation of passenger-train-style coal transport circulation trains on Xinjiang Railways has reached 25 pairs, achieving regular operation. This is another measure launched by CR-Urumqi to accelerate the market-oriented reform of railway freight, following the successful operation of a 10,000-ton test freight train and the first "one order system" rail-sea intermodal train.

As the domestic economy continues to improve, the demand for transporting bulk goods such as coal and chemicals in Xinjiang has been increasing. CR-Urumqi has proactively aligned with enterprise transportation needs, deepened transportation organization reforms, and adopted passenger-train-style methods, including fixed loading and unloading stations, routes, train numbers, and arrival and departure times. These measures have allowed for the operation of coal circulation trains between coal production areas and downstream enterprises, providing companies with fast, punctual and stable transportation capacity.

Currently, the passenger-train-style coal circulation trains originate from the Zhundong and Kubai coal production areas, transporting approximately 78,000 tons of coal daily. This effectively meets the production needs of 26 downstream coal enterprises in areas such as Shihezi, Changji, Kuitun, Aksu and Kashgar.
