Fully Leveraging the Endowment Advantage of the Railway Industry to Guarantee the Formation of a New Pattern in Western Development

In recent years, the Lhasa-Shigatse Railway and Lhasa-Nyingchi Railway have been completed and opened to traffic, the construction of the Sichuan-Tibet Railway has been steadily promoted, and the railway network in Tibet has been gradually strengthened. Railways such as Ejina-Hami Railway, Ge'ermu-Ku'erle Railway, and Hetian-Ruoqiang Railway have been put into operation, forming progressively a transportation pattern in Xinjiang where "internal circulation rises, and access to and from Xinjiang speeds up." Major projects such as the Second Chengdu-Chongqing High Speed Railway, Chengdu-Dazhou-Wanzhou High Speed Railway, Xi'an-Chongqing High Speed Railway, and Chongqing-Kunming High Speed Railway have accelerated, better serving the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. CR has prioritized the western region as a key area for railway construction, strengthening the construction of strategic main channels such as entry into Xinjiang and Tibet, continuously improving the scale and quality of the railway network in the western region, and significantly transforming the infrastructure conditions in the region of the west. As of the end of April, the operational railway mileage in the western region has reached 65,000 kilometers.
