Recently, the 2nd China Luanchuan Cymbidium Orchid Culture Festival opened in Heyu Town, Luanchuan County, Luoyang City, Henan Province. More than 2,000 orchid enthusiasts and merchants from 18 provinces and cities across the country gathered at the Luanchuan Cymbidium Orchid Cultural Industrial Park to admire orchids and exchange experiences.
Luanchuan County has a long history of orchid cultivation, with more than 300 varieties of orchids, among which the cymbidium orchid is the most famous. Since 2022, the railway authority has collaborated with Luanchuan County to participate in the construction of the Cymbidium Orchid Exhibition and Trading Hall, helping to further enhance the influence of the cymbidium orchid industry in the local area. Yang Jintai, Vice President of the Luanchuan County Cymbidium Orchid Association, introduced that since the first Cymbidium Orchid Culture Festival, more and more orchid enthusiasts have come to visit and trade. Now, the 9th of each month is designated as the cymbidium orchid grower trade day, widening the road for local orchid growers to increase their income and become prosperous.
The festival, lasting for 3 days, includes activities such as government and business exchanges, publicity and marketing interactions, online and offline simultaneous promotion, as well as industry cooperation and trade negotiations. A total of 58 varieties and 406 pots of famous cymbidium orchids were exhibited, showcasing the latest breeding achievements, development trends and industry models of Luanchuan cymbidium orchids. During the festival, members of CR-Zhengzhou's Literature and Art Association organized painting and calligraphy exhibitions and photography excursions, and donated more than 40 paintings and a series of excellent photographic works, creating a rich cultural atmosphere at the event site.
