On October 17, 2024, the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway officially completed one year of operation, showing strong passenger growth flow with a total of 5.79 million passengers transported. The highest daily occupancy rate reached 99.6%, and the trains have safely operated over 2.57 million kilometers, maintaining a stable and orderly transportation service, significantly enhancing its regional impact.
According to a representative from CR, in the past year, Chinese and Indonesian railway authorities have worked closely together to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries. They have effectively maintained and operated the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway, continuously improving transportation efficiency and service quality, thereby enhancing the collaborative "Belt and Road" partnership between both nations and playing a positive role in providing convenient and efficient travel for the Indonesian people and promoting economic and social development in Indonesia.
Transportation capacity has been significantly improved. After the official opening of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway, the travel time from Jakarta to Bandung was reduced from over three hours to just 46 minutes. The number of daily train services increased from 14 at the start to 52 at peak times, and the passenger seating capacity rose from over 8,400 to more than 31,000, with a maximum daily passenger volume of 24,132 and an occupancy rate peaking at 99.6%. Over the past year, a total of 15,826 train services have been operated.
The regional impact is increasingly evident. The Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway has greatly improved local transportation conditions, gradually highlighting the "city integration effect," accelerating personnel exchanges and economic interactions between cities along the route, and injecting vitality into regional economic and social development.
