Launch of China-Laos Railway's "Beijing-Yunnan-Vientiane" International Freight Train: Guangming Daily

      Kunming, October 14 (Reporter Xu Xinyu, Correspondents Zhang Weiming, Huang Zaiyun) - At around 16:00 on October 14, the first China-Laos Railway "Beijing-Yunnan-Vientiane" international freight train, loaded with 390 tons of Laotian bananas, departed from Wangjiayingxi Railway Station in Kunming, Yunnan Province, heading towards Pinggu District, Beijing. This marks the official launch of the China-Laos Railway international cold-chain freight train and the "Beijing-Yunnan-Vientiane" international freight service, opening up a new international freight corridor connecting Beijing, Yunnan and Southeast Asian countries.

  It is reported that China imports about 700,000 tons of bananas from Laos each year. With the launch of the "Beijing-Yunnan-Vientiane" freight train, light industrial consumer goods, mechanical and electronic products from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region will also be transported via this route to countries and regions along the Belt and Road, including Laos, Thailand and Singapore.
