The China-Laos Railway spans 1,035 kilometers and has quickly become a "golden route" connecting China and Southeast Asia since its opening. Its efficient and convenient transportation, along with diverse ethnic cultures and scenic attractions along the route, has drawn a large number of tourists home and abroad.
To address the personalized communication needs of the diverse ethnic groups along the railway, CR-Kunming has implemented several convenient measures. Language translation equipment has been installed at stations and on trains, providing service information broadcasts in Chinese, Lao and English, as well as in the Dai dialect.
To meet the payment needs of passengers from different countries and age groups, CR-Kunming has set up "dedicated windows" for international travelers to purchase tickets at stations along the China-Laos Railway, as well as ATM cash machines and POS payment terminals to facilitate purchases for the elderly and foreign visitors.
The number of cross-border seats on international passenger trains on the China-Laos Railway has increased from 300 to 370, and the number of stations served has risen from 8 to 10. The punctuality rate for trains departing is 100%, and the arrival punctuality rate is 99%. A round trip can be made in a single day from Xishuangbanna in China to Luang Prabang in Laos.
