According to Du Chungu, the Chinese Consul General in Düsseldorf, the CRE train enables faster and more cost-effective delivery of "Made in China" electronic products, home appliances and new energy vehicles to Europe. It also opens up new trade channels for European manufacturers and traders entering the Chinese market, significantly enhancing the welfare of consumers in the countries and regions along the route while creating more jobs and development opportunities.
Markus Bangen, CEO of Duisburger Hafen AG, noted that the CRE train strengthens ties between China and Europe while opening up a new international transport market to promote economic and trade exchanges.
Bangen mentioned that Duisburg's profile as a key station along the route is continually rising, and the increase in investment is bringing numerous job opportunities to the area, fostering the growth of the logistics industry and attracting more companies to Duisburg, creating a virtuous cycle.
This year, the routes of the CRE train have continued to expand, achieving breakthroughs. In mid-August, a CRE train route connecting Chongqing to the heart of Europe via the Caspian Sea was established in both directions. On September 20, a shipment from Xi'an along the CRE train route successfully departed via the Caspian Sea international transport corridor. With the ongoing construction and expansion of this corridor, various stakeholders are optimistic about new opportunities for cooperation and development along the CRE train.
Bangen concluded, "As the demand for trade circulation through the CRE train grows, we expect the freight volume of the trains to continue to rise. We see a brighter future for the CRE train."
