Connecting points to form lines, overseas warehousing services have been enhanced. With the rapid development of cross-border e-commerce, more Chinese enterprises are strengthening their overseas warehouse construction and collaboration. The European warehouse of Chinese home brand SONGMICS HOME is located in Duisburg Port, Germany, just a 10-minute drive from the port facilities. In the first half of 2024, the company established three new self-operated overseas warehouses in Europe, bringing the total area of its global self-operated warehouses to 350,000 square meters and achieving a YoY revenue growth of over 41%.
Linking chains to create networks, the cross-border flow of goods has been accelerated. China COSCO Shipping has innovated its logistics service model by setting up a relay warehouse of approximately 10,000 square meters near Hamburg, equipped with compliance for hazardous materials storage and bonded functions. This establishes a transmission route between domestic and international "dual warehouse coordination," reducing detention fees by over 90%.
Expanding business opportunities, more collaboration chances have been created. In recent years, the demand among European consumers for Chinese specialty food products has surged. Companies have strengthened cooperation with China's food industry, successfully introducing hundreds of brands—such as well-known beverages, instant meals, hot pot base ingredients and snacks—into Germany, France, Finland and over 20 other European countries through the synergy of cross-border e-commerce and overseas warehouses.
